Introduction to Corporate Golf
HT Gillis Corporate Golf Blog Posts, interesting information about the world of Golf, Business Customer Retention and Client Relations.
There are 28 million golfers in the United States. Chances are a few of your best clients maybe several of your high paying clients play golf. Would you like to give them a day of golf on any course in Connecticut, Rhode Island or Massachusetts ? Do you have time to take a day out of the office ? Are you a good player ? If you do not have the time. Or you are not a very good player and neither are any of your other senior executives. There is no point in going out on the golf course and shooting 120 and embarrassing yourself with other players who are your cliensts and are experiences golfers.
I have the answer for you. I will represent your company or firm in a highly professional manner and play golf with your clients. I have been playing golf since the age of 8 years old. I have had a career in sales and marketing and customer relations for 30 years. I have been a memeber of an exclusive Country Club in Connecticut for my entire life, ( 51 years ). And I know how to be a good host and entertain your clients for 5 hours on the golf course. I can speak on any topic, sports, golf, current affairs, movies, movies, politics and just good golf course banter. I will play golf with your clients and host and entertain them for the afternoon, or morning session of golf. We can tee-off at 7:30 am or 1:00 pm : which ever suits your clients schedule best. It is my job to be available when your clients are available to play a round of 18 holes of Golf.
The benefit to you is your clients have been “treated” to a nice day on the golf course by your company or firm.
After the round of 18 holes of golf are over and your clients are in a great mood, you or a few of your senoer executives meet them for drinks, lunch, a light supper or dinner at the golf course clubhouse. At this point, I exit and you take over. It is a perfect time to further bond with your clients. It is a great opportunity to talk some business. It is a perfect time to bring up the big contract you maybe trying to land.
It is a perfect time to set the appointment for a more formal meeting in your office or in thiers and close the “big deal” that has been on thr table for a while. Entertaining your clients with golf, then meeting with hem after is a great way to strengthen the relationship between the two companies, and insure future business will continue to come your way.
